2011 Cache of the Year

Ok, it’s time to start trawling back through the last year and let’s start looking at the 2011 caches of the year.

The first thing I would like to do is to see if anyone has any suggested changes to the awards from last year? See below for what we had last year.

1. Best Cache
2. Best Location
3. Most Original Cache (to the Hunter area)
4. Best Photo/Video/Log
5. Best First Year Cache Hide

The rules are as follows:
All Categories
a. Must be hidden in the Hunter area*

Categories 1 & 2
a. The cache must have been placed during 2010.
b. Must be a physical cache (no Virtual Locationless)

Category 3
a. The cache must have been placed during 2010
b. Nominators must specify the reason for nominating.

Category 4
a. The photo/video/log must be made during 2010

Category 5
a. The cacher must have hidden their first cache in 2010. The nominated cache does not have to be the cachers first hide.

I’d welcome suggestions from everyone. I can’t guarantee that we will be able to take them all on but I’m happy to look at some options. Perhaps we drop one of the ones from last year and add one or two more. I think more than 6 options would be too many.

  1. One suggestion I would have (and it is probably the grumpy reviewer in me speaking) is that to be nominated for an award the cache must be “active” (not archived) as at midnight 31/12/11.

I would also drop category 3 (Most Original Cache ) I think it’s too close to Cache of the year.

Does anyone have any ideas for new Categories?
